Now that Misa had made some money from the jobs we could look for a place to rent. There isn't a newspaper** or website or agency to go through to find places to rent (unless you're a tourist looking to pay an arm and a leg!).
** Note added on 6/5...(We now found the real local paper here.....a little late but we will use it next time. Mano a mano, it's also online too!!
So the hard work of driving all over looking for Se Renta signs began! We spent all afternoon on Thursday and a lot of gas! We started looking in an area where we knew the places would be within our price range. We found some places that could work but really this was too far from the lot and the area that we had hoped to be in. The area that we had hoped to find a place in is a lot spendier (it's close to the Malecon or the Center of PV). We decided to head over that way and just look.
We ended up finding the perfect place and it was only $2500 pesos/mo! That is about $210/mo! It didn't include any utilites though but that is okay...because it had a bathtub!! That is a VERY rare thing in Mexico!
The place was on the second floor with a small living room, small bedroom, one bath, a outdoor long hall way to the kitchen and dining room area. The roof was a big fenced in area with a washer hook up and plenty of space to hang our laundry!
The people said that they would be moving out on Sunday and the place would be ready on Monday.
We were so excited and could wait for Monday!!
